Collective Agreement Ratification Meeting

Hello Members,

We are pleased to share that, following 12 hours of mediation on July 10, the Bargaining Committee and the Employer have reached a tentative agreement for a new Collective Agreement.

We are currently in the process of arranging an in-person ratification meeting where the details of the tentative agreement will be presented. Ratification is the process where members review the proposed changes to the Collective Agreement and vote on whether to accept or reject it. This is your opportunity to ask questions before casting your vote.

The details of the MOA (Memorandum of Agreement) will be presented and discussed at the ratification meeting and will also be available to members when casting their vote. The MOA will not be distributed or published in advance of the meeting.

Once the date, time, and location of the meeting have been confirmed, we will send out another email with all the details.  Following the ratification meeting, there will be an online vote conducted through Simply Voting. The vote will remain open for two days to allow members sufficient time to participate.

Given the timeline and that the date of the ratification meeting has not yet been confirmed, we strongly encourage you to register to vote as soon as possible by emailing your intention to vote to cupe386elections@shaw.ca. Registering now will help ensure you are ready to participate once voting opens.

Please note that you must be a current member in good standing to cast your vote.

We kindly ask that you speak with your coworkers about this important meeting, as not all members have opted in to our email distribution list. Your help in spreading the word is greatly appreciated, as we want to ensure that as many members as possible are aware of the meeting and have the opportunity to participate in the vote.
