Your collective agreement sets out your rights and responsibilities in the workplace.  If you have any questions or concerns about your rights at work, please talk to your steward or a member of the executive.

The 2021 Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) represents the changes made to the 2016-2020 Collective Bargaining Agreement. Please find links to documents below.

Health and Dental Plan
Coquitlam CUPE members are under a Pacific Blue Cross Health and Dental Plan (Group Number 907469). Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for details.

Good and Welfare
If you are aware of a member (in good standing) who has been off for surgery, birth of a new child or loss of loved ones, please notify the Union office so that we can arrange to have a fruit basket or flowers delivered to their home.

Please email the Union office at cupe386@shaw.ca and provide the following information;

  • Member’s name
  • Reason for being off

Retirement Benefit
A Recognition and Respect certificate and cheque will be issued upon retirement to members who have been in good standing in the Union for 10 or more years ($300 for the first 10 years and $15 for each subsequent year).

How to apply:
Once you have submitted your retirement papers to the City, please provide the following information to the Union office at cupe386@shaw.ca.

  • Confirm the date you were sworn in to become a member in good standing;
  • Date of your retirement
  • Last day of work
  • Details of retirement ceremony/event

If we are advised of a retirement event in your honour, we will make every reasonable attempt to have the documents ready for presentation at the event by an officer of the Union. Unless otherwise arranged, your certificate and cheque will be mailed to your home address.
