Special Meeting re Property Purchase: 101 – 1550 Hartley Avenue, Coquitlam.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss Local 386 buying property to relocate our offices.
The building we are currently in has been put on the market for $2.8M. TheĀ asking price is not something the local thought was financially viable. We have a lease until 2024, which our lawyer says we can give 6 months notice to vacate. The current lease costs are $3000 per month.
We have discussed the local purchasing property for a few years now. As our future here is uncertain and we know that we are not paying current market rental rates. The cost to lease will only increase.
By purchasing our own space we will be in control of our costs and investing in the future of the local.
